Getting Ready for Season 6: Second Chances

I don't know if anyone's seen the new lame commercial for Lost, where we see Jack about to drop the bomb, and then he does, and then it says, "Lost... coming in 2010." Wow. Thanks for telling me WHAT I ALREADY KNOW. Ugh. Anyway, I think THIS should be the commercial. Yes, it's got stuff we've all seen, but it's still wicked, and suggests things could be rewound and tried again. The clock ticking at the end sent chills down my spine.

these guys are friggin' awesome! I go back and watch all their stuff about once a month to get my LOST fix....the waiting is unbearable so I have been watching Firefly. I have been watching Castle and love Nathan Fillion (ever since 2 Guys, a gal, and a pizza place). Firefly should have never been cancelled. Incredible show! Anyway, only 2 months to LOST!!!

Nik, I read an article about a day or two ago that said Darlton begged ABC not to show new footage of Lost because it would tip off the audience as to what they're doing this season. They said they doubt they'll be able to hold off up to the premiere, but they were surprised that ABC allowed them to not showing anything new all the way into November.

Personally, I'm thrilled that they're doing this. For the past 4 seasons, everytime a preview for the new season of Lost would come on, I'd either change the channel quickly or close my eyes and yell. I HATE being spoiled!

And as I type this, I just remembered where I found the article. Here it is...

That was *amazing*, especially the end!

Hunter- I so agree about the spoilers. Even if they do come out with a new-footage promo I'm going to do my best to stay away from it.

On an unrelated note, how much do you love that Pepper on Glee makes a Smoke Monster sound?

Yeah, thanks to the utter and complete radio silence all we'll be getting as far as hype are stuff we already know. I have a love/hate relationship with this one...

That was awesome.

Where'd all the footage of the cast hanging out on the beach in evening wear come from?

The cast in evening wear comes from a British commercial that had everyone in Goth makeup and acting really strange and provocative and dancing around the beach. It never aired in the U.S. Most fans love it... I've actually never cared for it. It's so over-the-top it makes me cringe. You can watch it here:

Cool, thanks Nikki!

Yeah, it's pretty OTT. The costumes/dancing are kind of cool (I like Locke conducting, and it worked great in the Second Chances promo) but I could definitely do without the melodramatic voiceover.

I loved that Dave LaChapelle commercial. Best commercial for a show I've ever seen. Also, I think they're doing the right thing by not showing new footage, (come on, it's called delayed gratification, it makes stuff better). The producers should just have LaChapelle or other interesting and willing artists direct commercials like that - just non-continuity stuff. It could be a surreal dream, or an alternate universe vignette. Maybe Kate and Saywer as social elites in the 20's. Or Locke roving through the southwest as a lawman at night. (Those particular ones keeps running through my mind for some reason).
